3. This Reminds Me Of..

"'Is he dead?' 'Yeah, I think so,' Dooley said. In fact, he was sure of it... 'Go and call 911,' Dooley told the boy on the bike. 'Tell them someone went off a bridge and it looks like he's dead. Okay?'" (Norah McClintock, Dooley Takes the Fall, pages 1-2)

This phrase reminds me of the movie Flight Plan, which is about a mother and daughter who loose their husband/ father. Together they board the plane to return to their home town, having many twists along the way. Both story lines are based on crimes, in fact both victims either accidentally or purposely fall off a building. Also, in Dooley Takes the Fall Beth suspects Dooley committed her brother's death, while in Flight Plan the mother suspects two men who boarded the plan murdered her husband. These stories are both filled with mystery and adventure that will keep your mind racing.

2. Dooley Takes the Fall by Norah McClintock

Dooley Takes the Blame by Norah McClintock

Ryan Dooley was placed in prison for attacking a women in her own home. After paying his duty Dooley had gone to live with his uncle. Dooley finished work early, deciding to take a walk. He looked in the distance and saw a boy sprawled on the ground; dead. At that point, Dooley didn't know who the boy was, but later figured it was Beth Everley's brother Mark. Beth became suspicious and suspected Dooley was the one to blame for Marks' death. If Dooley didn't commit the crime, the question is, who is the one to blame?

Dooley Takes the Fall is a book full of mystery and adventure, making it an all around good story. Every page takes a twist and leads you to something else. After getting to know the characters you  feel for them and what they're experiencing. To me, that is what a good book is all about, feeling as if you're inside the story. I would recommend this novel to anyone who is looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
